Barbara Crowe Bushell, 81, of Dartmouth died August 4, 2007 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness.
She was the wife of Edwin J. Bushell.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Dr. Alfred B. and Marion M. (Doyle) Crowe, she lived in Providence and New Bedford before moving to Dartmouth.
With her husband Ed, Barbara owned and operated Crowell's Fine Art and Custom Framing. Barbara was an art director at Bo Bernstein's Advertising Agency in Providence prior to purchasing Crowell's.
Barbara was a member of and an avid swimmer at the New Bedford YMCA. She was a graduate of the Rhode Island School of Design and a member of the alumni association.
Survivors include her husband; 2 step-daughters, Stephanie Garcia of Marion and Heidi Johnson of Osceola, MO; a sister, Carole Sullivan of New Bedford; 4 grandchildren; 5 nieces and nephews, Peter Bolton, Diane Bolton, Philip Bolton, Christine Penry and Robert Bolton, and her devoted friend Polly Field of Marion.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Friday, August 10th at 11 AM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home For Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford. Burial will follow in the South Dartmouth Cemetery. Visiting hours Thursday, August 9th from 4-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the YMCA, 25 South Water St, New Bedford, MA 02740.
