Dr. John P. Meskunas of Stoneham passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 1, 2007 at Winchester Hospital. He was 79 years of age.
Born in Waterbury, Connecticut, John was the loving son of the late John and Patricia Meskunas. Dr. Meskunas was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be missed by all.
Dr. Meskunas was a general surgeon at Winchester Hospital, having practiced medicine for over 30 years. He had a great love of sailing and was a member of the Annisquam Yacht Club in Gloucester. Dr. Meskunas was a proud Veteran of the Korean War.
Dr. Meskunas was the beloved husband of Kathleen (Sullivan) Meskunas. He was the devoted father of Rebecca Meskunas of Stoneham, Jack Meskunas and his wife Denise of Pelham, New York, Paul Meskunas and his wife Tonia of Providence, Rhode Island and the cherished grandfather of Chelsea, John and Haley. John was the brother in law of Maureen and Michael Ide and uncle of Michael and Christopher Ide, all of Dracut. He was the son in law of Paul Sullivan of Waltham.
