Mrs. Eva (Oliveira) Souza 89, of Franklin, died Tuesday July 31, 2007 at the Milford Regional Medical Center. She was the former wife of Joseph Souza of Florida.
Born in New Bedford, December 19, 1917 a daughter of the late late Manuel and Maria (Silva) Oliveira, she lived in Franklin since 1955.
She was raised and educated in New Bedford, and until her retirement in 1988, worked for more than 30 years as a ward attendant at Wrentham State School.
She was a member of the Portuguese Alliance Society of Fall River, the Franklin Senior Citizens, the American Association of Retired Persons and a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, Franklin.
She is survived by 4 sons, former Franklin police officer Robert F. Souza and his wife Joy of Palm Coast, Florida, Richard J. Souza and his wife Marilyn of Franklin, Thomas G. Souza and his wife Joy of Grovetown, New Hampshire and Joseph T. Souza of Franklin, a brother Antone Oliveira of New Bedford, 16 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
She was the sister of the late Valentine Costa.
Relatives and friends are invited toi attend her funeral Saturday August 4th, 2007 at 8:15AM from the Charles F. Oteri and Son Franklin Funeral Home 33 Cottage St. (www.franklinfuneral.com) with a funeral Mass in St. Mary’s Church, 1 Church Sq. at 9AM.
Interment will follow in the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
