Richard “Cy” Monahan, 69 of Fremont, NH, died Monday, July 30, 2007 in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry, NH. Mr. Monahan was born in Everett, MA on February 20, 1938, a son of the late Arthur and Arline (Berrigan) Monahan. He was a resident of Fremont for the past 23 years, formerly living in Derry and Melrose, MA. He graduated from Melrose High School. “Cy” was a truck driver for Uni1st in Nashua, NH for over 25 years. He was a big Boston Red Sox Fan, enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and taking care of his yard.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Constance "Connie" Monahan of Fremont, two sons, Kevin Monahan and his wife Linda of Manchester, NH, Tom Monahan of Portland, ME, a sister, Jean Conn of Saugus, MA, four grandchildren, Nick Monahan and his wife Dannie, Pat, Shelbie and Kelly-Jo. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his son, David A. Monahan in 1974.
Funeral services were held at 10:00am Thursday, August 2, 2007 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Burial was in Village Cemetery, Fremont.
