WORCESTER-Anne J. (McDermott) Hogan, 87, died Wednesday, December 4th in the Hermitage Nursing Home after an illness. She leaves her husband of 62 years, Thomas J. Hogan, Sr.; 2 sons, Thomas J. Hogan, Jr. of Reston, VA and James E. Hogan of Worcester; 3 daughters, Anne C. O’Keefe and Maureen E. Bennett both of Worcester and Susan J. Kimmey of Manchester, NH; a sister, Margaret Hall of Buffalo, NY; 7 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She was born in Worcester the daughter of James and Annie (Bowen) McDermott and lived in Worcester most of her life. She graduated from Commerce High School in 1934 and the New England School of Accounting in 1936. Mrs. Hogan was employed as the office manager at the former Home Building Supply Company in Worcester. She was an artist well known for her Ceramics and taught a Ceramics course at the Worcester Alternative High School before it closed. She was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church, the Catholic Daughters of America and held office in the Holy Family League of Charity. She and her husband were also long time members of the YMCA.
The funeral was held Saturday, December 7th at Blessed Sacrament Church. There were no calling hours. Burial was in St. John’s Cemetery.
