Obituary

Jeanne L. (Knudsen) Driscoll, 83, died at the Bridgewater Housing for the Elderly on Wednesday, July 25 after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Frederick J. “Ted” Driscoll.

Born and educated in Malden, she was a graduate of Malden High School, Class of 1942.

Mrs. Driscoll was a resident of Bridgewater for over 50 years.

She was a bookkeeper at Bridgewater State College for 20 years before retiring 18 years ago.

Mrs. Driscoll was a member of the Catholic Women’s Guild at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater. She volunteered at the Brockton Hospital and Handi Kids in Bridgewater for many years.

In her free time she enjoyed traveling, walking and spending time with her family. She was an avid Red Sox fan.

Mrs. Driscoll is survived by her children, Tim Driscoll and his wife Cindy of Easton, David Driscoll and his wife Maryellen of Bridgewater, Christine Prodouz and her husband Tom of OH and Susan Driscoll of Bridgewater as well as her sister, Thelma Howard and her husband Myles of FL. She is also survived by her stepmother, Ruth Knudsen of Melrose, 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was the foster mother of Melissa Homen and her husband Michael of GA.

Funeral will be held from the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., (Rt. 18) Bridgewater on Tuesday at 8:15 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Bridgewater at 9 AM. Visiting Hours Monday 4-8 PM. Burial will take place at the VA National Cemetery in Bourne.
