North Andover, MA - Cecile A. (Dube) Gaudes, 85, died Tuesday July 24, 2007 at The Meadows at Edgewood in North Andover.
Born and educated in Lawrence, Mrs. Gaudes was the daughter of the late Ludger and Clairina (Lafond) Dube.
She had been formerly employed at the Pacific Mills of Lawrence. She was a hairdresser in the area for more than 50 years. She owned and operated Melody’s Beauty Salon in Methuen before her retirement.
Cecile was a former communicant of Sacred Heart Church in South Lawrence prior to its closing. She enjoyed painting and knitting.
Cecile was the widow of John A. Gaudes, and is survived by two daughters; Diane P. Peters of Tewksbury, and Debra G. and her husband Stephen A. Hegge of Andover. Survivors include sisters and brothers Therese Boie of Methuen, Clairina Currier of Lawrence, Helene Desfosses of Derry, NH, Gerard Dube of Dracut, Armand Dube of Hutchinson, Kansas, Richard Dube and Marcelle Devine of Salem, NH, and Robert Dube of Newburyport, two grandchildren Nicholas and Alexandra Hegge and many nieces and nephews. Cecile was predeceased by brothers and a sister; Arthur Dube, Leo Dube, Roland Dube, Ludger Dube, and Jeannette Riches.
A funeral mass will take place on Saturday morning at 10 o’clock in Saint Michael’s Church of North Andover with burial to follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.
Friends may call on Friday from 4-8 P.M. at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home, Inc. 233 Lawrence Street in Methuen.
