WORCESTER____Ethel B. (Collins) Chestna, 77, of 17 Balis Ave., died Friday December 6 in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center, 20 Worcester Center Boulevard.
She leaves her husband of 63 years, Alphonse C. Chestna; four sons, James Chestna of Sutton; Richard Chestna in Massachusetts; Michael Chestna of Worcester and Russell Chestna of Rochdale; three daughters, Kathleen Helliwell of Orange County, Florida; Linda Thibodeau of Oxford and Sandra Asselta of Rochdale; three sisters, Mildred "Mae" Baker of Florida; and Arlene Vigeant and Beverly Rivard both of Barre; fourteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and nephews and nieces. A daughter, Carol Chestna of Worcester died in 1949. She was born and raised in Auburn, daughter of Raymond and Ida (White) Collins and has lived in Worcester for most of her life.
Mrs. Chestna was a secretary 50 years for her family owned company, General Roofing Co., and retired in 1987.She was graduated from Auburn High School.Mrs. Chestna was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church.
The funeral will be held on Tuesday December 10, from Dirsa - Morin Funeral Home, 298 Grafton St., with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St. Burial will follow in St. Josephs Cemetery, North Brookfield. Calling hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday December 9 in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 20 Speen St., Framingham, 01701.
