James Gray Anderson Mitchell 93, of Kingston died on Tuesday July 24, 2007 at the Jordan Hospital in Plymouth. Born in Stoney Wood, Scotland James came to Needham in 1923. He graduated from Needham High School and continued his education at Wentworth Institute. He later moved to Newtonville where he resided for many years. He has been a resident of Kingston for over 30 years. His career in engineering started with C.A. Breed in Newton where he was the Vice President and General Manger. He later was the Division Manager for Electrons Corporation of America for 12 years, Division Manager of the Instrument Division for Thomas Edison for 12 years and also worked for Preferred Utilities in Ct. In 1990 he founded CAPE Engineering in Kingston until his retirement in 2000. During WWII he was Deputy Wing Commander with the Civil Air Patrol. He was Past President of Combustion Engineering Associates, a member of the Dalhousie Lodge AF&AM in Newton and a member of the Aleppo Tempo Shrine. James also served on the Recycling Committee in Kingston. His hobbies and interest included flying and golf. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn (Durbin), survived by daughters, Nancy Lee Mitchell of Oxnard, CA, Sally Proteau and husband Jean-Claude of Stow, MA, and their families; sons, Richard Brown and his wife Sally of Natick, MA, and Carleton Brown of Wellington, FL, and their families; brother of Lincoln Kennedy and wife Carol of Surprise, AZ ; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and friends. Also survived by dear friend Rosalie Suescun and her family. Funeral services at the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Friday July 27th at 11:00 AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Visiting hours Thursday 4-7 PM. Interment will be private.
