Obituary

DANVERS - Peter P. Billert, 93, formerly of Danvers and Peabody, husband of the late Harriet Ann (Brozozowska) Billert, died Sunday, July 22, 2007 at the Harborside Healthcare of Wakefield, following an extended illness.

Born in Peabody on July 9, 1914, he was the son of the late James and Lena (Petkevitch) Belucavitch and was a graduate of Peabody High School in the class of 1933.

Following high school, Mr. Billert served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1934 to 1938, attained the rank of PFC and served on the USS Saratoga.

He was a resident of Danvers from 1949 until 1976, and has resided in Stoneham for the past 15 years.

Prior to his retirement in the mid 1970's, he was employed at the General Electric Company in Lynn for over 30 years.

He is survived by one daughter, Janice Rowe of Kennett Square, PA, one son, Peter A. Billert of Rockport, MA and Norway, Maine, his longtime companion and beloved friend, Lois MacKenzie of Stoneham, 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph Billert and John Billert.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, July 27, 2007 at 10 am at the St. John The Baptist Church, 28 St. Peter St., Salem. Visiting hours will be Thursday from 5 to 7:30 PM at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
