Obituary

HYANNIS-John D. "Jack" Sullivan, Jr., 48, of Castlewood Circle, Hyannis died Friday, Dec, 6 in the Falmouth Hospital, Falmouth after an illness.

His wife, Paula (Kosek) Sullivan died in 1999.

He leaves a son, John D. Sullivan, III of Hyannis; a daughter, Caitlin J. Sullivan of West Boylston; a step-son, Patrick Kealey of Hyannis; his parents, John D. and Marilyn J. (Johnson) Sullivan of Shrewsbury; a brother, Robert M. Sullivan of Bridgeport, CT; two sisters, June E. Eressy and Nancy E. Buniowski both of Worcester; four nieces and a nephew.

He was born in Worcester and was raised in Shrewsbury. He graduated from Shrewsbury High School where he was a standout athlete and talented pitcher. He attended UMass-Amherst.

Mr. Sullivan worked as a manager in the hotel industry on Cape Cod for many years before retiring several years ago due to illness.

He was an enthusiastic sports fan and played softball in leagues on Cape Cod for many years.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 10 from the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury (www.brittonfuneralhomes.com) with a Mass at 11AM in St. Mary's Church, 640 Main St. Shrewsbury.Following cremation, burial in the Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton will be private.Calling hours at the funeral home are Mondday, Dec. 9 from 5-8 PM.
