Obituary


CAMBRIDGE — Roger J. Bourgeois, age 56 years, of Dartmouth, died Sunday July 22, 2007 at Cambridge Hospital after a brief illness.

He was the husband of Marjorie (Cardoza) Bourgeois. Born in Acushnet, son of the late Norman and Dorothy (Chase) Bourgeois St. Pierre and his late stepfather George St. Pierre, he grew up in Fairhaven and spent most of his life in Dartmouth.

Roger was employed as a carpet installer for Furniture City and Carpetland and had served in the U.S. NAVY in the Mediterranean.

Roger enjoyed being with his grandchildren and loved going to Newport Grand and Foxwood Casinos where he loved playing slot machines. He also enjoyed camping with his family at Weirs Beach in New Hampshire and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors in addition to his wife are three children, Michelle Woodacre, Laurie Correia and Joshua Bourgeois; his sisters, Doris McClurg, Janice Lariviere and Delores Richard; his brothers, Raymond and Richard Bourgeois; his grandchildren, Alyssa, Richard Jr., Sean, Kaylee, Nicole and Matthew; and several nieces and nephews.

He was the brother of the late Ronald Bourgeois.

His funeral will take place from the Wilson Chapel, 479 County St. at the corner of Elm St. New Bedford on Thursday, July 26, 2007, at 10 A.M., with a Funeral Mass at 11 A.M. in St. Mary's Church, South Dartmouth. Visitation at the funeral home from 4-8 P.M. on Wednesday
