Obituary

Salvatore J. Daniele (Salvie), 86, was called home Thursday, July 19, 2007. Salvie was a long time resident of Lawrence, Massachusetts and most recently a resident of Glen Burnie, MD. He was born in Lawrence, Massachusetts on January 7, 1921 to Gueiseppe and Maria (Cugno) Daniele.

Salvie was a veteran of World War II where he served in France, Germany & Italy with Patton’s Third Army. He worked as a bedlaster at Lawrence Maid Shoes and retired from Lawrence Pump, Inc. where he worked as a tester.

Salvie was married to Violet G. (Ford) Daniele in 1942 who preceded him in death in 1987. He is survived by his daughters, Maria M. (Daniele) Johnson and her husband Edmond of New Hampshire and Dora K. (Daniele) Gustafson and her husband Joseph of Maryland; 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. He was the last of eight siblings; 3 sisters: Rosalie Michel, Lucy DeBrukere, Julia DeQuatro; 4 brothers: Guitano, Stanley, Louie & Anthony; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 26, 2007 at the Kenneth H. Pollard Funeral Home Inc., 233 Lawrence Street, Methuen, Massachusetts 01844. Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 27, 2007 at the Corpus Christi Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex Street, Lawrence, Massachusetts. Interment will be on Friday, July 27, 2007 at Linwood Cemetary in Haverhill, Massachusetts immediately following the Mass.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers that a donation be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 445 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401, who cared for Salvie during his illness. Salvie was a beloved husband and a wonderful father and grandfather. Our hearts are saddened as he was loved dearly and will be greatly missed by his entire family.
