Obituary

Gertrude R. Landreville, 83, of New Bedford died Monday July 23, 2007 at home after a brief illness.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late Ulric and Olive (Trahan) Landreville, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
Miss Landreville was a communicant of St. James Church.
She was formerly employed by Cherry & Webb for 20 years until retirement.
Miss Landreville was the caretaker of the Mary Queen of All Hearts statue in front of the Chapel at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Her mother had erected the statue in front of the former St. Hyacinth's Church as a promise to God for Gertrude's brother Bernard's safe return from World War II.
She enjoyed gardening, knitting, dog sitting and the company of her family.
Survivors include two nephews, Raymond Landreville and his fiancée Robin Loomis of West Hartford, CT and Norman Landreville, and his wife Nancy, of New Bedford; a niece, Susan Goulet, and her husband Lawrence, of Inverness, FL; her sister-in-law, Rita Landreville of New Bedford; her special friends, Louis Marcotte and Lillian Brown, both of New Bedford; six great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great-nieces.
She was the sister of the late J.U. Bernard Landreville.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 AM in St. James Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
