Bridgewater - Thomas W. Conn Jr., 72, of Bridgewater, died Saturday, July 21, 2007, at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Ceneter, Brockton. He was the husband of Patricia (Dondi) Conn.
Born in New Bedford, he was the son of Adelaide (Young) (Conn) Hopkins of Bridgewater and the late Thomas W. Conn and Edgar Hopkins.
A graduate of Bridgewater High School, he was vice president of his class and organized class reunions.
Mr. Conn was in the U.S. Air Force and served during the Korean War.
Honorably discharged as staff sergeant, he received the National Defense Service Medal and Good Conduct Medal.
He owned and operated Bridgewater Radiator Shop for 40 years, retiring in 2003.
A lifelong resident of Bridgewater, Mr. Conn was a member of the Vets Club, and coached and managed the American Legion Post 203 baseball team for over 20 years.
He enjoyed painting, playing the banjo, yard work and sports and football.
He was the husband of Patricia (Dondi) Conn; son of Adelaide (Young) (Conn) Hopkins of Bridgewater and the late Thomas W. Conn; father of Linda Conn of Charlestown, W.V., Patricia Conn of Bridgewater and Thomas W. Conn III and his wife Mary of Bridgewater; grandfather of Edgar Conn, Bill Logan and Alana Conn. He was also the stepson of the late Edgar Hopkins.
Visiting hours are in the Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St. (Rte. 18), Bridgewater, Wednesday 4-8 pm.
Funeral service and burial in the Mass. National Cemetery will be private.
