Obituary

Cecile G. Lavallee 77, formerly of 547 Clinton St. died Friday in Woonsocket Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was the wife of the late Paul E. Lavallee. Mrs. Lavallee was born in Dearborn, MI., a daughter of the late Dorila and Anita (Marchand) Giguere. Mrs. Lavallee ran the snack stand at the Woonsocket Post Office for the RI Services for the Blind for seven years before retiring in 1991, she also worked as a packer for Bachman-Jax Foods in Lincoln for four years, as an assembler for McGill Jewelry Box in Plainville, MA for five years and as a babysitter in the Nursery at Walnut Hill Bowl for many years. She was a member of the Blackstone Valley Association for the Blind, and the Knights and Damsels Square Dancing Club.

Mrs. Lavallee is survived by a son Paul N. (Lavallee) Lake of Grass Valley, CA., four daughters Madeleine Costigan of Auburndale, FL., Denise V. Lavallee and Susan Scott both of Woonsocket, and Leona Lavallee of Hopkins, SC., a cousin Claudette Fortier of Woonsocket, two brothers Ralph and Normand Giguere both of Blackstone, three grandsons and one great granddaughter. She was also the sister of the late Rheal and Roger Giguere.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday at 9:00 am. from the Fournier & Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St. Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am. in St. Agatha’s Church, Joffre St. Woonsocket. Burial will be held in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday 4-7 pm.
