Obituary

Lillian Odessa Lewis, 64, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Friday, July 20, 2007 at Tift Regional Medical Center in Tifton, Georgia.

Funeral services will be held 4:00 P.M., Sunday, July 22, at Calvary Baptist Church, with Rev. James Griffin officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Saturday evening at the funeral home.

Ms. Lewis was born September 23, 1942, in Toombs County, Georgia, to the late C.C. “Lum” and Virginia Butler Lewis. She had lived in the community since 1977 coming from Jacksonville, Florida. She was a former school bus driver in Jacksonville and worked as a care giver with the Jessamine Place in Fitzgerald. She was a former employee of Shaw, Y&W Sportswear, and Modern Fibers. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and Calvary Baptist Church where she was active with the senior adult ministry.

She is survived by her children and their spouses: Sharon & Dewey Hartley of Phenix City, AL, Rex & Jena Golden of Fitzgerald , and Michelle & Anatiel Zamora of Ocilla; nine grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law: Martha Ellen & Bobby Presnell of Tallahassee, JoAnn & Mark Horn and JoBeth & Lamar Ray, all of Fitzgerald; two brothers and a sister-in-law: Levy & Lynn Lewis of Lawrenceville and Terry Dayne Lewis of Fitzgerald. She was preceded in death by a son: James Sylvester Golden and a brother: Glenn Royce Lewis.
