AUBURN- Mary J. (Daigle) Dumont, 87 of 18 Sunrise Avenue died Thursday, December 5 in the Sturdy Memorial Hospital, Attleboro after an illness.
Her husband, Theodore J. Dumont died in 1976.
She leaves two daughters, Susan J. Cotter of North Attleboro and Cheryl A. Dumont of Dayville, CT; a brother, George Daigle of Oxford; two, Yvonne McCausland of Oxford and Theresa Fanion of Webster; five grandchildren and 7 great grandchidlren and many nephews and nieces. Her brothers, Albert and Joseph Daigle predeceased her.
She was born in Berthierville, Quebec, Canada, the daughter of the late Culbert and Regina (Cayer) Daigle and lived in North Oxford, Rochdale and has lived here since 1951.
Mrs. Dumont worked as a card tender for Anglo Fabrics in Webster before her retirement in 1988. Previously, she worked for Carleton Woolen, Rochdale for many years.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Parish in Auburn and enjoyed gardening, crocheting and reading.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 9 from the Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central St., Auburn (www.brittonfuneralhomes.com) with a Mass at 11 AM in St. Joseph's Church, 189 Oxford St., Auburn. Burial will follow in St. Roch's Cemetery, Oxford.Calling hours at the funeral home are Sunday, Dec. 8 from 6-8 PM.
