BRIDGEWATER — Martha A. “Chickie” (Davis) McGlone, 63, of Bridgewater died Wednesday at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. She was the wife of Micheal J. McGlone.
Born Nov. 28, 1943, in Boston, she was a daughter of the late Fred and Martha (O’Connor) Davis.
Raised in Dorchester, Mrs. McGlone was a graduate of St. Gregory’s High School.
She had been a Bridgewater resident for the past seven years, previously living in Middleboro and East Taunton.
Mrs. McGlone was an insurance agent with Amity Insurance Agency, retiring three years ago.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church, where she was a Eucharist Minister.
Mrs. McGlone was also a real estate broker and had worked at her son’s car dealership, McGlone Family Motors in Bridgewater.
She was an avid Red Sox fan.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Maureen P. McGlone of Limington, Maine, Ellen M. Bartnicki of Wilmington, Micheal J. McGlone Jr. of Bridgewater and Jennine A. Meserve of Bridgton, Maine; her sisters and brothers, Jean Griffin and John Davis, both of Pembroke, and Fred Davis and Agnes Smith, both of Rockland; and seven grandchildren, Emily and Joshua Bartnicki, Delaney, Cameron and Madelyn Meserve and Aidan and Teagan McGlone.
Her funeral will be held at 9:15 a.m. Tuesday from Prophett Funeral Home, 98 Bedford St., Bridgewater, followed by a funeral Mass at 10 in Taunton Holy Family Church. Burial will be in Cedar Knoll Cemetery, East Taunton.
Visiting hours are Monday 4-8 p.m.
