METHUEN – Cornelia R. (Murphy) Hollins age 78 died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on Tuesday July 17, 2007.
Born and educated in Lawrence, MA she was a graduate of Lawrence High School and attended the Lawrence General School of Nursing graduating with the Class of 1949. For 37 years she was a registered nurse with Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, retiring in 1994. She love playing bingo, enjoyed crossword puzzles and spending time with her grandchildren.
The widow of Bernard A. Hollins, she leaves 4 sons Bernard A. and his wife Charlene Hollins of Peabody, MA, Robert J. and his wife Susan Beeman-Hollins of Salem, NH, Joseph T. Hollins of Methuen, MA and Raymond F. and his wife Liz Hollins of Manchester, NH.
3 daughters Kathleen E. Mackinnon and her husband Barry of Dunbarton, NH, Patricia A. Skoby and her husband Kenneth of Henniker, NH and Mary Ellen Hollins of Methuen, MA.
1 sister Ruth Anne Pothier and her husband Richard of East Kingston, NH
10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the sister of the late Raymond F. Murphy, Jr.
ARRANGEMENTS: In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to Merrimack Valley Hospice 360 Merrimack St., BLDG 9 Lawrence, MA 01843 or to the American Cancer Society 30 Speen St. Framingham, MA 01701-9376 Family and friends may call on Friday from 4:00p.m. – 8:00p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:00a.m. at St. Monica’s Church in Methuen. Burial will follow in the Elmwood Cemetery also in Methuen, MA.
