Son of Gerald L. Burnell Sr. of Brockton and the late Elaine B. (Stevens) Burnell. Loving brother of Gerald L. Burnell, Jr. of Whitman; Joseph H. Burnell of Fairhaven and Michele A. Burnell of Pembroke. Uncle of Gerald III, Samantha, Amanda, Caitlynn and Meghan (both his god daughters) and Jessica. Brother-in-law of Steven Mahoney of Whitman; Tina Burnell of Whitman, Kellie Burnell of Carver and Kim Skammels of Fairhaven. Nephew of Dominic and May Stevens of Wareham.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Obituary

Daniel P. Burnell 34 years of Brockton died unexpectedly Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of Tricia L. (Mahoney) Burnell. Daniel was born in Brockton a son of Gerald L. Burnell Sr. of Brockton and the late Elaine B. (Stevens) Burnell and remained a lifelong resident of the city. He was a 1992 graduate of Southeast Regional Vocational-Technical High School and was a motorcycle mechanic by trade. He had worked for many years at Monty’s Cycle Shop in West Bridgewater and part time at South Shore Cycle Shop in Abington. He had most recently worked at New England Art in Abington.
Daniel was a huge motorcycle enthusiast who belonged to the FREEWHEELERS MC of Bridgewater. He had been involved in many charitable and memorial motorcycle runs.
Daniel was devoted to his family and children and was most proud this past Father’s Day when his children’s “draw your dad” picture was featured in the Brockton Enterprise.
Daniel was a fiercely loyal friend who was the first person to cheer anyone up. He will be remembered as always being the life of the party.
He was a former member of the Brockton Veteran’s Fireman’s Association and the Campello Fireman’s Association.

He is survived by his wife Tricia L. (Mahoney) Burnell, his children, Sean, Daniel Jr. and Kristen Burnell, his father, Gerald L. Burnell Sr. of Brockton and his late mother, Elaine B. (Stevens) Burnell, his brothers, Gerald L. Burnell, Jr. of Whitman; Joseph H. Burnell of Fairhaven and a sister, Michele A. Burnell of Pembroke, his nephews and nieces, Gerald III, Samantha, Amanda, Caitlynn and Meghan (both his god daughters) and Jessica, his brother-in-law, Steven Mahoney of Whitman and sister in laws, Tina Burnell of Whitman, Kellie Burnell of Carver and Kim Skammels of Fairhaven, his uncle and aunt, Dominic and May Stevens of Wareham.
