Gilbert L. Dube, age 76, a lifelong Lowell resident, died Tuesday, July 17 in Lowell following a brief illness. He was the beloved husband of Margaret V. Ogden.
He was born in Waterbury, CT on May 7, 1931, the son of the late Louis and Laura (Lacouture) Dube. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Dube was employed as a buyer with Prime Computer Co. of Framingham for 10 years and was previously employed with Nyes Japenamelac Corp. of Chelmsford for 23 years.
Mr. Dube was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Longmeadow Gold Club in Lowell
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Diane A. and Robert Suprenant of Lowell and Eileen L. Dube of Lowell; a son and daughter-in-law, Kevin K. and Michelle Dube of Londonderry, NH; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Roger Dube of Palm Springs, CA and Richard and Claire Dube of Lowell; three grandchildren, Scott R. Suprenant of Lowell and Lauren R. and Renee A. Dube of Londonderry; also many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Raymond and Norman Dube.
At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours and services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Allegiance Hospice, 67 Middle St., Suite 503, Lowell, MA 01852.
