Obituary


Domenica (Poli) “Mimma” Sicari, a longtime Medford resident, died Saturday, July 7, while vacationing with family and friends Augusta, Sicily. She was 71.

Mimma was born and raised in Augusta, Sicily, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Maria Poli. Domenica came to the United States when she was 20 and settled in Medford. A dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, Mimma was also a talented seamstress. She enjoyed the company of her family and friends and had a special fondness for her family and friends from Augusta.

She was the beloved wife of the late Sebastian “Jimmy” Sicari. She was a devoted mother to Domenic Sicari and his wife Sonya of Lexington, AnnMarie Cugno and her husband Michael of Medford, Salvatore Sicari and his wife Linda of Saugus. She was a loving grandmother to Michael, Davina, Marcello, Arianna, Christine, Massimo, Matteo, and Salvi, Jr. She was a dear sister to Giovanni Poli and Rossetta Piccinonno, both of Sicily, Maria Poli of Revere, Nancy Saraceno of Medford and the late Sebastiano Poli. She also leaves many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford Saturday at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Francis of Assisi Church, Fellsway West, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family, Friday, 4 thru 8. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
