Obituary

Mr. John J. Beaulieu, Sr., age 87, a longtime resident of Dracut, formerly of Lowell, died July11th, 2007 at Lowell General Hospital following a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Grace W. (Wetmiller) Beaulieu, who died July 30, 2003

He was born in Lowell on February 6th, 1920, son of the late Leo & Robea (Ducharme) Beaulieu.

Prior to his retirement in 1986, he was employed by the city of Lowell and taught military drill, health and physical education at Lowell High School for over 30 years.

Mr. Beaulieu retired from US Army in1980 at the rank of Colonel, having served during World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam.

Survivors include his son, John J. Beaulieu, Jr. of Boston; a daughter and son-in-law, Bonnie & Stephen A. Haas of Brewster, MA; two brothers, Maurice Beaulieu of Orlando, FL and Paul Andre Beaulieu of Las Vegas, NV; two sisters, Lucille Gilcreast of Nashua, NH and Doris Spencer of Grantham, NH; a grandson, Matthew Haas of Brewster, MA; also several nieces & nephews.

He was also the grandfather of the late Alex B. Haas, and brother of the late Gabrielle Healy.

At his request, there will be no calling hours, and services are private at the convenience of the family. Donations in his memory may be made to the: Alex B. Haas Memorial Scholarship Fund, c/o Nauset Regional High School, PO Box 1887, 100 Cable Rd., North Eastham, MA 02651.
