THOMPSON – Stephen J. Gawron, Sr., 82, of 261 Gawron Road, died Monday, July 16, at home.
He leaves his wife of 53 years, Dorothy “Doris” (Kitka) Gawron; a daughter and son-in-law in PA; two sons in Connecticut; a sister, Ann Przybylek of Webster; 3 grandsons; a niece and several nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Wieloch.
He was born in Webster, a son of Frank and Nellie (Mrzyglod) Gawron, and lived in Thomspon since his childhood. He was a graduate of both Tourtellotte Memorial High School in North Grosvenordale and the University of Connecticut.
Mr. Gawron was a retired employee of the State of Connecticut.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church in North Grosvenordale. He also attended Sacred Heart Church in West Thompson for many years, serving as a lector there. He enjoyed his country home and environment. He traveled extensively in the Eastern United States.
The funeral will be held Thursday, July 19, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., Webster, MA, with a Mass at noon in St. Joseph Church, 18 Main St., North Grosvenordale. Burial will be in St. Joseph Garden of Peace, Webster. A calling hour will be from 10:15 to 11:15 AM Thursday, July 19, at the funeral home.
