Joseph Cecil Duggan, 81, of Willacoochee died Tuesday, July 17, 2007, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Lake City, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 20, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Jeremy Deloach will officiate with burial to follow in Turner Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Brad Luke, Lee Pittman, Ottis Luke, E. J. Carroll, Jimmy Duggan and Jeremy Stanford will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Curtis Luke, Jerry Conger, Junior Conger, Clarence Conger and Carlis Luke. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 19, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Mr. Duggan was born on September 12, 1925 in Berrien County and was the son of Noah Duggan and Ida Lee Brown Duggan, both deceased. He was a retired radio announced and of the Baptist faith. He was a Sergeant First Class in the United States Army and served in the Koran War and World War II. He graduated from Enigma High School in 1943 and graduated from Pathfinder School of Radio Broadcasting. He also attended and graduated from South Georgia College and received a diploma in Bachelor of Business Administration from Brewton Parker Junior College. He qualified in the Southeastern Single School and completed a training course of the Office of Civil Defense of the District of Columbia.
Mr. Duggan is survived by a sister and brother-in-law, Maedell and Clayton Conger of Willacoochee; several nieces and nephews; several great nieces and great nephews; and several great great nieces and great great nephews.
