Anthony G. Ristaino 95, of Franklin, died Monday July 16, 2007 at the Medway Country Manor Nursing Home, following a long illness. He was the husband of the late Emma (Handverger) Ristaino who died in 1999, and the late Mary E. (Dobeck) Ristaino, who died in 1949.
Born in East Boston, September 4, 1911 a son of the late Teodoro and Letizia (Reppucci) Ristaino, he was a lifelong Franklin resident.
He was educated in Franklin public schools, and was a member of the first class to attend the former Davis Thayer School. Until his retirement many years ago, he owned and operated the former Tony’s Men’s Shop in downtown Foxboro. He also worked at several area First National Stores.
He was a life member of Scared Heart Council #1847 Knights of Columbus in Franklin, and a life member of the Franklin Lodge of Elks and the St. Anthony & Columbus benevolent Society in Franklin. He was a former member of the Foxboro Lions Club, and a former member of the Board of Directors at the former Foxboro Savings Bank. He was also a member of the Franklin Senior Citizens and the American Association of Retired Persons.
He is survived by a son Norman C. Ristaino, a member of the Franklin Planning Board, a daughter Joan E. Molloy and her husband Jim of Franklin, a sister Mary Ristaino of Attleboro, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. He was the brother of the late Everett Ristaino, Theodore Ristaino, Amelia Cataldo, Teresa Mattarazzo, Geneviere Villari, Edith Hottenger and Margaret Barroni. He was also the grandfather of the late James A. Molloy.
A private graveside service will be held at the family lot in St. Mary’s Cemetery in Franklin.
