Obituary

LOWELL - Adelard R. Grondine, 83, a resident of Lowell, died Saturday July 14th at Town and Country Nursing Home in Lowell. He was the husband of the late Nora (De'Angelo) Grondine who died in 1962 and the late Monique (Cote) Grondine who died in 2004.

He was born in Lowell on May 11, 1924, and was the son of the late Raul J. and Melena (Sarassin) Grondine. He received his education in Lowell schools.

Mr. Grondine served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Prior to his retirement, he was employed as a fork lift operator by Hanscom Air Force Base in Lexington.

He was a communicant of St. Kathryn Church in Hudson, NH and was a member of the Pelham American Legion Post 100 and the Pelham VFW.

In his free time he enjoyed carpentry.

He is survived two daughters JoAnn Hallowood of Lowell, and Antoinette Desrosiers and her husband Michael of Nashua; a son Donald Grondine of Ispheming, Michigan; a brother-in-law Roland Plouffe of Lowell; ten grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was also the father of the late Ralph Grondine, Donna Gravel, and Rita Plouffe, the father-in-law of the late Donald Hallowood, and the brother Irene Auclair and her husband the late Louis Auclair.

His Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 10:30a.m. at the DRACUT FUNERAL HOME, 2159 Lakeview Avenue, DRACUT. Burial in St. Patrick Cemetery, Lowell. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his name to the VNA Hospice of Greater Lowell, PO Box 1965, Lowell, MA 01853-1965.
