Louis M. Severance, 76 of Concord, NH, died Saturday, July 14, 2007. Mr. Severance was born in Derry, NH on October 28, 1930, a son of the late Robin M. and Evelyn (Stevens) Severance. He was raised in Derry and graduated from Pinkerton Academy. Mr. Severance served with the U.S. Navy. A Hooksett resident since 1957, he was employed as a machinist for J.F. McElwain Shoe Company, and later at Prevue Products. At various times he owned several small businesses. Mr. Severance was a member of the USS Gering Alumni Association, the D.N. Ice Boating Association, and was a former member of the Merrill Follansbee American Legion Post #37 of Hooksett. He loved to putter in his garden.
He is survived by his wife, Mary L. (Smith) Severance of Hooksett, NH, three daughters, Lorraine De Rosa of Claremont, NH, Patricia Davis of Lisbon, NH, Nancy Pariseau of Auburn, NH, two sons, Robert Severance of Manchester, NH, James Severance of Hooksett, eleven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and a sister, Pearl Ward of Aurora, CO.
Funeral services were private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Solid R.O.C.K. Free Methodist Church, 157 Pleasant St., PMV 160, Claremont, NH 03743. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry assisted the Severance family with arrangements.
