Joan (Andrews) DeSantis, 45, of Sandown, NH, died Sunday, July 15, 2007 in Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston, MA following a lengthy battle with pancreatic cancer. Joan was born in Winchester, MA on January 25, 1962, a daughter of Joseph V. Andrews, Sr. and the late Joan (Greenleaf) Andrews. She graduated from Stoneham High School and was a resident of Sandown for the past 16 years. She was a school bus driver in Sandown, working for Laidlaw Transit Services for 10 years. Joan loved camping and the outdoors and also enjoyed working on her computer. Most importantly, she was a proud mother who lived her life for her children and her family.
She is survived by a son, Kenny DeSantis of Sandown, a daughter, Erin DeSantis of Sandown, her father, Joseph V. Andrews, Sr. of Stoneham, MA, two sisters, Cheryl (Andrews) Kelly and her husband John of Stoneham, Gail (Andrews) Knowlton and her husband Robert of Rochester, NH, a brother, Joseph V. Andrews, Jr. of Dracut, MA, many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews, many friends and her dogs, Hagrid and Lucy. She was predeceased by her mother, Joan (Greenleaf) Andrews in 2005.
Visiting hours were held 4-8pm Wednesday, July 18, 2007 in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. Funeral services were held Thursday, at 10:00am in the funeral home.
