Rose H. (Verlicco) Baril, 87 of Medway and formerly of Quincy and Bellingham, died July 13 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of Philippe J. Baril for the past 60 years.
Born in Quincy, November 4, 1919, the daughter of the late Frank and Marie (Descentis) Verlicco, Mrs. Baril was raised in Quincy and had lived in Bellingham for 15 years before moving to Medway in 1987.
Mrs. Baril had been the head chef at the Bonanza restaurant in Milford and prior to that had been a waitress at Darlene’s Donuts in Bellingham and the Mayflower Diner in Quincy.
She enjoyed bowling and playing whist.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Daniel P. Baril and his wife, Helen of Canton and her daughter, Judith McGovern and her husband, Michael of Blackstone.
She is also survived by her sisters, Vera Falicone and Pat Ayer of Quincy,
her grandchildren, Sean, Suzanne, Jason, Greg, Michelle, Brian, Eric and Caitlin and great-grandchildren, Ally, Abigail and Derek.
She was the sister of the late Amelia “Mal” Briggs, Frances “Fanny” Gilbert, Joseph “Chic” Verlicco and Julio and Henry Verlicco.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Her funeral will be held on Wednesday, July 18 from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home 3 Barber St. in Medway at 9:15 followed by a funeral Mass in St. Joseph Church, Village St. in Medway at 10:00 a.m.
Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford.
Calling hours will be on Tuesday from 4-8 p.m.
