BOYNTON BEACH, FL-Mary Ann Stavros-Lanning, 49, of Boynton Beach, FL passed away June 7th at Hospice by the Sea after a long fight with cancer. She leaves her husband, William Lanning, III; a stepson, William Lanning IV and his wife Lucy of Coral Springs, FL; her father, John Stavros, Sr. and his wife Wanda of Auburn; 2 brothers, Richard Stavros of Medford, and David Stavros has his wife Darlene of North Easton; 3 stepbrothers, Thomas and Robert LaMarche both of Worcester and Richard LaMarche and his wife Terrie of Holden; 2 sisters, Tina Freeman and her husband Michael of Charlton, and Elizabeth Lynch and her husband Steven of Auburn; a stepsister, Dianne Lorion and her partner Elizabeth Grenier of Charlton; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Cleary of Singer Island, FL; and many aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. Her mother, Genevieve (Cosenza) Stavros and her brother, John Stavros, Jr. predeceased her.
She was born in Worcester and was a graduate of Doherty High School and the Rhode Island School of Design. Mary Ann then moved to Fort Lauderdale and established herself as a well-known graphic designer. She and her husband then started their own company, The MASWELL Group. Mary Ann’s extraordinary and creative designs won many national, state and local awards. For those blessed to have known Mary Ann, her presence will forever be in their hearts. She will be deeply missed by all.
A Memorial service will be held on her 50th birthday, Wednesday, July 18th at 10:00 AM in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street. Donations may be made to Hospice by the Sea, 1531 West Palmetto Park Road, Boca Raton, FL 33486.
