Debora Scruggs Parker was born on January 17, 1964 and departed this life on July 13, 2007.
She was the daughter of Mrs. Ruby P. Scruggs and the late Willie W Scruggs. In 1989, she was joined in holy matrimony to Thomas Parker. To this union two beautiful children were born: Gabrielle Dora Parker and Joshua Thomas Parker.
She joined St. Mark Baptist Church at the age of 16 and served faithfully in the church until the Lord called her home.
She was educated in the Madison County Public School System where she graduated from Buckhorn High School in 1982 as class valedictorian. She earned her B.S. degree in Accounting from Alabama A&M University in 1986. She continued her education and went on to earn her MBA in 1990 from Alabama A&M. She was employed by STRICOM as a contract specialist on Redstone Arsenal for almost 20 years.
She leaves to cherish her memory: a devoted husband, Thomas Parker; one daughter, Gabrielle Parker; one son, Joshua Parker; mother, Ruby P. Scruggs; siblings: Carrie Copeland, Huntsville, AL, Eloise (Roy) Franklin, Nashville TN, Lenora (Herbert) Perkinson, Cartersville, GA, Willie W Scruggs Jr., David W Scruggs, Stanley Scruggs, all of Huntsville, AL, Beatrice (Calvin) Townsend, Durham NC, Michael (Demetria) Scruggs, Ruby J Scruggs, both of Huntsville AL, Dwight Scruggs, Atlanta, GA, and Mollie Lang, Huntsville, AL; three uncles, two aunts, twenty nieces, fifteen nephews, one brother-in-law, nine sisters-in-law, and a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Services for Mrs. Parker will be held at the St. Mark Baptist on Monday, July 16 at Noon with Pastor John Clay officiating. Interment will be in Valhalla Memory Gardens.
