Obituary

James Leon Lindsey, 43, of Atlanta, formerly of Tifton, died Thursday, July 12, 2007, at Hospice of Atlanta. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 16, 2007, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. Rev. Fred Evers will officiate with eulogies to be given by family and friends. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery at a later date. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 15, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Lindsey was born on May 6, 1964 in Tift County and was the son of Leon A. Lindsey, deceased, and Vivian Matthews Lindsey of Tifton, and the grandson of the Rev. and Mrs. Thomas Homer Matthews and Mr. and Mrs. John F. Lindsey, all of Tifton. He moved to Atlanta 20 years ago andwas the owner of Atlanta Events, Inc. He was a 1982 graduate of Tiftarea Academy and attended Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College. He was instrumental in coordination of events at Dow Chemicals House at the Masters in Augusta for the last seven years and was a sought-after event coordinator for social and corporate events in the Atlanta area. He made many friends through work and travel around the world. He was a member of Northside Baptist Church.

In addition to his mother and grandparents, Mr. Lindsey is survived by one sister and brother-in-law, Mary Lindsey Wells and her husband, Ronald, of Eustis, Florida; and one nephew, Christoper Leon Penley of Ematilla, Florida.
