Lois E. Sieg, 78, of Derry, NH, died Tuesday, July 10, 2007 in the Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry. Mrs. Sieg was born in Cambridge, MA on December 16, 1928, a daughter of the late George and Alice E. (Colby) Wilkshire. She was a resident of Derry since 1970, formerly living in Burlington, MA. Mrs. Sieg was educated in Arlington, MA, and was graduated from Bentley College in 1948, before working for Hale & Dorr in Boston in the tax dept. She and her husband had owned and operated Derry Marine in Derry until retiring in 1985. Mrs. Sieg enjoyed square dancing, ham radio operation, and loved the water, the ocean, boating and fishing. Lois will be remembered for never speaking bad of anyone, she was the nicest person.
She is survived by one son, Peter E. Sieg and his wife Teresa L. Sieg of Derry; one daughter, Joanne S. Lewis and her husband Timothy A. Lewis of Derry; five grandchildren; her brother-in-law, Aubrey Tobey of Arlington, MA; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her husband John C. Sieg, Sr. in 2004, two sons, John C. Sieg, Jr. in 2005, James A. Sieg in 1971, two sisters, Cynthia Tobey of Arlington, MA and Constance Williams of Newport News, VA.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service for all family and friends, will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 11:00am, in the Forest Hill Cemetery, Hampstead Rd., E. Derry. Memorial contributions may be made to the Greater Derry Boys & Girls Club, Box 140, East Derry, NH 03041 or to the Derry News Santa Fund, PO Box 307, Derry, NH 03038. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry is handling the arrangements.
