Obituary

Worcester - Kathleen “Kay” (Laycock) Brandt, 88, passed away on July 7, 2007 in Autumn Village Nursing Home after 8 years with Alzheimer’s disease.

She leaves her husband of 71 years, Warren J. Brandt, a son Richard A. Brandt and his wife Geri, all of Worcester and 2 grandchildren. A brother and two sisters predeceased her. Kathleen was born in Worcester and graduated from Shrewsbury High School.

She spent 13 years from 1963 to 1976 in volunteer service for The Massachusetts Association for the Blind, receiving a Master of Braille Transcription diploma from The Braille University of Temple Emanuel Sisterhood in Worcester, MA in 1969. Transcribing books for the blind was an accomplishment of which she was very proud.

She was a life partner in the truest sense of the word to her husband Warren in their lifetime together. They shared wonderful friends, took many camping trips all over New England and Canada and in their later years spent winters in Florida. They were SNOWBIRDS and LOVEBIRDS…..never apart. Sweet dreams Kathleen.

Kathleen’s funeral and burial will be private in Hope Cemetery.
