Jerry A. Watson, 67, of Abbeville, died Sunday, July 8 in Saint Marys, Georgia.
Funeral services will be held at 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, July 11, at the Paulk Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Brenda Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Mr. Watson was born January 16, 1940, in Wilcox County, to the late Ernest and Virginia Farrell Watson. He lived in Abbeville for the past 5 months from Ocilla and was a former resident of Fitzgerald and Homestead, FL. Mr. Watson was a farmer, truck driver and a former employee of Fitzgerald Mills and Kimberly Homes. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Hughes of Abbeville; son, Lamar Watson of Opelika, AL; 1 grandson; brothers, Quinton Watson of Tallassee, AL and Garron Watson of Opelika, AL; sisters, Margaret Bishop and Connie Davis both of Ringgold and Sharron Eyster of Memphis, TN as well as several nieces and nephews.
