Balsavich of Brockton December 3, 2002, John C. Balsavich, Sr. 73 years. Husband of Therese M. (Butler) Balsavich. Father of Lynne Bower of Wayland and John C. Balsavich, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Foxboro. Grandfather of Derek and Ryan Bowerand Jay and Hannah Balsavich. Brother in law of Dr. John “Jack” and Nancy Butler of Cohasset.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont St., (Rte 123) Brockton Saturday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in Our Lady of Lourdes Church at 9 am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting Hours Friday 4-8 pm.

Obituary

John C. Balsavich, 73 of Brockton died Tuesday Dec. 3, 2002 at the Goddard Center for Transitional Care in Stoughton following a long and courageous battle with emphysema and cancer. Born in Brockton, the son of the late Charles and Beatrice (Vindasius) Balsavich. He was a graduate of Marianapolis Academy in Thompson, Connecticut, and received his degree in Business Administration at Northeastern University.

He served four years in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. Prior to his retirement he was employed at Northeastern University for 35 years as a Laboratory Supervisor in the Electrical Engineering Department and an Instructor at Lincoln College of Northeastern University.He enjoyed fishing, boating, cooking, hooking rugs and model airplanes. After retiring he and his wife spent the winters in Pompano Beach, Florida where he was a member of the American Legion, Post 142 and the Enterprise Club of Brockton, MA.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years Therese (Butler) Balsavich, a son John C. Balsavich, Jr. and his wife Kathryn of Foxboro and a daughter Lynne Bower of Wayland, four grandchildren, Derek and Ryan Bower, Jay and Hannah Balsavich, also cousins, nieces and nephews. He was the brother in law of Dr. John ‘Jack” and Nancy Butler of Cohasset.
