Obituary

George F. Haley, 80, of Medford, passed away suddenly at home in Medford on July 4th, 2007. He is a retired Medford Police Patrolman serving the City of Medford from October 4th, 1953 until his retirement on April 2nd, 1988. George has been a life long resident of Medford. He graduated from Medford High School in 1944 and later received his Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree at Northeastern University in Boston. He also attended Anna Maria College. During World War II George served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Medford. He was also a member of the Medford Police Patrolman’s Association and was a communicant at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford. He is survived by his wife Elaine M. (Murphy) Haley of Medford; his daughter Elaine Ciulla and her husband Anthony of Stoneham; his son John Haley of Medford and his grandsons Matthew and Brian Ciulla. He is also survived by his sisters Regina Hart of Amherst; Lorette Tiernan of Stoneham and Sr. Ruth Marie Haley, SSND of Medford. He was predeceased by his brothers Donald R. Haley and Francis Haley. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford on Monday July 9th at 10 AM followed by interment in Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford. Relatives & friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday July 8th from 3-7 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the St. Francis of Assisi Parish School, 21 St. Clare Rd., Medford, MA 02155.
