New Bedford – George H. Dahlberg, 69, of Acushnet died after a long illness on July 4, 2007 at St. Luke’s Hospital. He was the husband of Sandra L. (Chace) Dahlberg.
Mr. Dahlberg was born in Acushnet, son of the late Harold R. and Jessie (Curtis) Dahlberg, and resided in the town most of his life. He was employed by Acushnet Company, New Bedford as a quality control manager for 28 years. He later drove motor coach for the former American Eagle, Fairhaven for 10 years. He was Past Commander of the Coast Guard Auxiliary #605 and former treasurer of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ where he was also active on various boards. He enjoyed sailing and building model airplanes.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by 2 sons: Eric H. Dahlberg and his companion Maria F. DeMelo of New Bedford and Craig R. Dahlberg and his wife Jennifer of Acushnet; a brother: Charles R. Dahlberg of Acushnet; 3 grandchildren: Alyson K. Dahlberg, Samuel R. Dahlberg of Acushnet, and Chase J. DeMelo of New Bedford; and several nieces & nephews.
He was father of the late Kari E. Dahlberg and brother of the late Richard D. Dahlberg.

Funeral services on Tuesday, July 10, 2007 at 10 A.M. at the Acushnet-Wesley United Methodist Church, 67 Main Street, Acushnet.
