Carmen C. Mastropieri, a lifelong resident of Needham died on Monday, July 2nd at the Stanley R. Tippett House in Needham. He was 83 years old. Born in Needham, he was the son of the late Mary (Martini) and Nicola Mastropieri. Carmen was a graduate of Needham High School Class of 1941. After high school, he enlisted in the US Navy where he served as an aviation radioman during World War II. Carmen graduated from Northeastern University with a degree in electrical engineering. He worked at GTE Sylvania in Needham before going to work for Digital. He worked at Digital until he retired. Carmen was a member of the New England Escadrilles and the Atlantic Warbirds. The beloved husband for 63 years of Emily C. (Vincent), he was the father of Christopher of Westfield, Lorraine of Bolton, Marcia DeVaux of Santa Barbara CA and Nicolas of Somerset CA. Grandfather of Vincent, Alyssa and Anthony. Funeral from the Eaton Funeral Home 1351 Highland Ave Needham on Sat. July 7th at 10:30 AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph Church at 11:30AM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting Hours on Friday from 4-7 PM. Interment will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Needham.
