Paul A. Carpluk of Newton Centre died on Saturday, June 30th at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He was 80 years old. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Mary (Sedelnick) and John Carpluk. Paul grew up in Roxbury and graduated from Boston Public schools. He was a U.S. Navy, World War II veteran. Paul joined the Boston Police Department in 1951 and retired as a Sergeant in 1989 after serving the city for 38 years. He was the beloved husband for 59 years of Mary H. (McLean) Carpluk and the loving father of Christine Dreier and her husband D. Patrick of Franklin and Elizabeth O’Neill and her husband Edward J. III, of Groton. Brother of Alfred and Olga both of Wilbraham and Jerry of Alaska. Cherished Papa of Brittany Lee, Nicole Elizabeth, Lily Anne and the late Megan Rea. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church on Friday July 6 at 12:05 PM. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at the Eaton and Mackay Funeral Home 465 Centre St Newton Corner on Thursday from 4-7 PM. Interment with Military Honors at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
