Obituary

Robert E. Carr, 58, of Winding Pond Rd., Londonderry, NH, died Sunday, December 1, 2002, at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. He was born in Swampscott, MA on April 7, 1944, a son of the late E. Morgan and Dorothy (Hayes) Carr. He was a resident of Londonderry for the past 33 years, formerly living in Massachusetts. Mr. Carr was a graduate of the Boston Latin School, Fairfield University, and Boston College Law School. He began his career with the State of NH Legislative Services, and practiced law for 30 years with Grinnell & Bureau in Derry. He served as the Legal Council for the Town of Londonderry for 20 years. He was a member of the American Bar Assoc., the NH Bar Assoc. and the Massachusetts Bar Assoc. He served on the Londonderry School Board, the Londonderry Charter Commission, and the Manchester Airport Authority. He had been a recreation coach with youth athletics in Londonderry. Mr. Carr was a lector at St. Mark Church in Londonderry where he and his family were original parishioners. He enjoyed outdoor activities, enjoyed the ocean and was an avid reader.

He is survived by his wife, Kathleen A. (Cleary) Carr of Londonderry, three sons, Edward R. Carr, Thomas W. Carr, Morgan R. Carr, and one brother, T. Morgan Carr.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, December 3rd from 3:30 – 7pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Following cremation, a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, December 4th at 11:00 at St. Mark Church, corner of Mammoth Rd., and South Rd., Londonderry. The burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery, Mammoth Rd., Londonderry.
