Alice Nadine Cox Wood, 73, of Omega died Sunday, July 1, 2007, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Tallahassee, Florida. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007, at Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church. Elder Thad Marshall and Bro. Donald Mims will officiate with burial to follow in Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery. Dale Cox, Tony Cox, Bruce Cox, Eddie Cox, Michael Cox and Joe Wayne Burns will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Buck Morris, Byron Stallings, Herb Stallings, Junior Frye, Greg Cox, Sam Hilton, Bennie Tucker, Danny Botom, Bud Willis, Wright Marchant, Walter McGhee, Charlie Meadows, Buddy Bailey, Jim Sandlin and Haman Sirmans. The family will receive friends on Monday, July 2, 2007, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Wood was born on March 28, 1934 in Worth County and was the daughter of Coy A. Cox and Ollie Mae Robinson Cox, both deceased. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy Alvin Cox. She was a homemaker and a member of Old Ty Ty Primitive Baptist Church.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her husband, Elder E. L. “Buck” Wood of Omega; two daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Ed Rosencrantz of Omega, and Vickie and Jimmy Wilson of Albany; one brother and sister-in-law, Gene Alfred and Betty Cox of Omega; three grandsons, Ryan and Bucky Wilson of Albany and Ward Rosencrantz of Omega; one granddaughter, Melissa Youmans and her husband, Jay, of Omega. She was a loving and devoted grandma to six great grandchildren, Kassidyn, Kagan, Koastal, Sealan and Sailor Youmans and Raven Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.
