Florence G. “Dolly” (Bowers) Gormley 75 years of North Easton formerly of Brockton died Saturday morning at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Robert T. Gormley.
Mrs. Gormley was born and raised in Brockton a daughter of the late Sherman and Emma Grace (Buchanan) Bowers. For the past 12 years she had been a resident of Parker Terrace in North Easton and previously lived in Rockland.
She was a homemaker who stayed at home to raise her family. She had once worked at Marshalls in South Weymouth and Hermatite in Avon.
Mrs. Gormley loved to cook, sew and read but enjoyed most being with her family.
She is survived by her three children of Sean Gormley of Brockton; Robert Gormley of Abington and Lisa Nolet of Methuen, 9 grandchildren and a great grand daughter. “Special mother” of Correen Murray and Rick Wanger.
She was the sister of Sherman Bowers of Baltimore, Maryland, Eleanor Fortin of Ocala, Florida and the late Walter Bowers.
She also leaves many nieces and nephews.
A Prayer Service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 7:30 pm. Her brother, Deacon Sherman Bowers will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Melrose Cemetery.
