Obituary

WORCESTER____Joseph Seymour, 90, formerly of 24 Mendon Street, died Saturday June 30 in The Lutheran Home of Worcester, 26 Harvard Street.

He is survived by four nieces, Elizabeth M. Guerin of Springfield, West Virginia; Sr. Pauline R. Weldon, SSA, of Webster; Estelle T. Civalier of Auburn and Jeanne C. Weldon of Worcester and grand nieces and grand nephews. He was born in Worcester on May 2, 1917 a son of John B. and Ella P. (Marier) Seymour and lived here all his life. He was predeceased by his sister, Elizabeth E. Weldon.

Mr. Seymour was a welder many years for A-1 Sheet Metal Co. and worked there until the company closed. He was a longtime member of St. Joseph Church. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II serving as a Sergeant in the Asiatic Pacific theater. Joseph was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Grammar School and St. Joseph’s High School

The funeral will be held on Friday July 6 from DIRSA-MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 298 Grafton Street, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, 35 Hamilton Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours in the funeral home are Thursday July 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Josephs Church Renovation Fund, 5 Whitman Road, Worcester, Ma., 01609.
