WORCESTER- Waino H. Gustafson, 81, died Wed. June 27, 2007 at UMass University Campus. He leaves his wife of 58 years, Ethel M. (Shirley) Gustafson. He also leaves one son, Waino W., and his wife, Linda Gustafson of Worcester; four daughters, Dianne M. Gustafson and her husband, Claus Hamann of Canton, Nancy L. and her husband, David Yoo of Yarmouthport, Karen L. and her husband Kevin Murphy of Falmouth, and Linda M. and her husband Wayne Spencer of Franklin. He leaves seven grandchildren, Daniel and Sara Gustafson, Christine and Mark Hamann, Eric and Laura Spencer, and Kate Murphy, as well as one great-grandchild, Molly K. Yoo; and nieces and nephews. He also leaves one brother, Randolph Gustafson of N.H., and one sister, Rose Donahue of Weymouth. He was pre-deceased by a sister Lillian M. Cocker.
Waino was born in Worcester, son of Vaino A. and Siiri (Hoiska) Gustafson. He was a self-employed golf enthusiast. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Force in Europe.
Calling hours will be held Sunday, July 1 from 3-5 p.m. at Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA 01605. The funeral will be held on Monday, July 2 at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in South Grafton.
