SALEM - Frederick D. Conners, 60, of Salem, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007 at his home.
Born in Salem, he was the son of the late Edwin M. & Margaret Jean (MacKinnon) Conners. Rick was a lifelong resident of Salem and was a graduate of Salem High School in the class of 1965.
For over 22 years, Fred owned and operated the former Whistle Stop Restaurant & Lounge, and later the former Trackside, both located on Canal Street in Salem.
Mr Conners, who was known as Fred by some and as Rick by others, made friends easily and will be remembered for his great sense of humor. He enjoyed fitness and working out, vacationing at the cottage by the lake in New Hampshire and spending time with friends & family.
He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Janelle Conners and one granddaughter, Mazzy Conners, all of Hailey, Idaho, one brother and his wife, Edward “Ned” and Lorraine Conners of Fremont, NH, one niece, Adrienne Conners of Epping, NH, two nephews, Nathan Conners and Jonathan Conners, both of Fremont, NH, and his many friends.
His funeral service will be held Monday, July 2, 2007 at 11 am at the Full-Spychalski Funeral Home, 84 Washington Square East, by Salem Common, Salem. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 am, prior to the service. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
