Whitman- Anthony “Tony” Grande died Friday June 29th in the Brockton Hospital after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of the late Helen M. (Kuzborski) Grand for 63 years.
Born and raised in Weymouth, he was the son of the late Joseph and Mary (Iadiano) Grande, and has been a resident of Whitman for over 60 years.
Mr. Grande was a veteran of the United States Army serving in the 923rd Field Artillery Battalion as a Staff Sergeant during World War II.
He worked as a manager for the Hunt’s News Agency of Weymouth, and later as a milkman before retiring as an assembler for the Murray-Carver Cotton Gin in East Bridgewater.
He loved woodworking, golf and he maintained his home and yard immaculately.
He is survived by his daughter Dr. Kristine (Grande) Nash and her husband Richard of Rochester. He was the brother of the late Alphonse, Louis, Joseph, Richard and Angie Grande, and Dolly Bocchino.
His funeral will be held Monday July 2nd @ 9:15 AM from the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the Rotary Circle) Whitman, followed by a 10:00 AM mass in the Holy Ghost Church, School Street, Whitman.
