HELEN (LAMROCK) CARTER, of Hingham, MA, died on Thursday, June 28th, 2007 at the Westerly Hospital in Westerly, Rhode Island. Mrs. Carter was born in Hingham and was a lifelong resident of the town. She graduated from Hingham High School and the Chandler Secretarial School in Boston. Mrs. Carter was a secretary by profession; first at the Hingham Shipyard, then in the Boston office of the United Fruit Company and in later years she served as secretary to the Head Master of Derby Academy in Hingham.
She was the wife of Maurice O. "Mo" Carter, Jr. of Hingham and mother of Diane (Carter) Kinney and her husband Charles S., II, of Westerly, RI. She was the sister of the late John H. Lamrock and the late Alice M. Lamrock. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 3rd at 10 AM at St. Paul's Church, 147 North St., Hingham Square.
Friends may visit at the Downing Cottage Funeral Chapel, 21 Pond St., Hingham on Monday from 4-7 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Derby Academy, 56 Burditt Ave., Hingham, MA 02043 or to the Westerly Hospital, 25 Wells St., Westerly, RI 02891.
The interment will be in St. Pau'ls Cemetery, Hingham.
